CAMERA GEAR

Phase One XF Camera Body

My go to for portrait work and as much motion as possible. The sensor size and depth of color and detail out of this camera body and back is phenomenal. I’m addicted to Medium Format files!

Mamiya Leaf Credo 40 Digital Back

40 Megapixels is just the start of this beast’s capabilities. I love the files that this back produces and the breadth of info I have to work with in post.

Schneider 80mm f/2.8 LS

The 80mm is great for taking photos that you’ll perceive as if you were seeing them in real life. Epic lens and the Leaf Shutter allows for unbelievable sync speeds!

Canon 5D Mark IV

The Canon 5D Mark IV is a huge improvement over the Mark III, and it is my go-to camera body for all of my shoots. A full-framed workhorse that hasn’t let me down yet.

Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II

The 80mm is great for taking photos that you’ll perceive as if you were seeing them in real life. Epic lens and the Leaf Shutter allows for unbelievable sync speeds!

Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro

This has quickly become one of my favorite lens choices for portraits with my Canon 5D Mark IV. The lens is beautiful and while the L version of the lens is amazing, I’ve had this budget friendly version since I started and I still love it!

Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L II

Great all around lens. If I’m not sure what the shoot is going to throw at me and I know I have to react quickly, this is the lens I’m going to have on my camera body.

Canon 16-35mm f/2.8L II

My “hero” lens. It really gives the subject a larger-than-life appearance.

32 GB SanDisk CF Cards

These are the only cards (in various memory sizes) we’ll use. SanDisk holds the patent and they’re the most reliable on the market.

LIGHTING GEAR

Profoto B10+ 500w

The 2.0 version of the Profoto B1, the new B10 Plus lights pack a huge amount of power in a compact head. These lights have fast become my go-to lights with all of the field work and travel I do. Their versatility and consistency is perfect for the working hobbyist or pro!

Profoto B1 500w

This light has changed my life. Battery built in so you don’t have to lug a pack and Profoto quality.

Profoto B2 250w Location Kit

These lights are the easy little cousin to the B1. While there is a battery external to the lights, the entire pack is so lightweight its amazing for shooting in the field.

Profoto Air Remote TTL-C

This beast of a controller lets you make adjustments on the fly and keeps me working light with the Profoto lights when I’m shooting my Canons.

Profoto White Beauty Dish

Gorgeous light modifier and one of my favorites for sport portraits and action shots.

Profoto Beauty Dish 25 Degree Grid

Controlling light spill with modifiers is a key to really taking full advantage of the light the Beauty Dish has to offer.

Profoto OCF Beauty Dish

Not quite as clean and sturdy as the rigid Beauty Dish, but the collapsible OCF Beauty Dish from Profoto is great for travel and still throws some beautiful light.

Profoto 3′ RFi Octa Softbox

Clean light when I need something a little more compact and directed than the big 69″ Octa. Profoto is the Light Shaping company for a reason!

Profoto Large Deep White Umbrella

I admit that I used to be a bit of an umbrella snob, but this quick light modifier is a favorite to set up and use as either a nice soft main (with a diffuser on it) or as a fill light for a scene. The shape of this umbrella is what made me a believer in umbrellas again.

Profoto 4×1′ Strip Softboxes

These modifiers are perfect for back lighting a subject in a 3-light setup or acting as a front light to create a lean profile.

Elinchrom Rotalux Octabox 69″

Huge, soft, beautiful light for portraits.

Elinchrom Rotalux Octabox 39″

The 69″‘s kid brother, this is a great light with a deep throw for close-up shots or remove the front diffuser and kick this beast into high gear for some great action shots.

Manfrotto 420b Combi Boom Stand

I love the portability of this boom stand and the Manfrotto quality means it’ll hold up in the elements.

Impact C Stand

You spent the money on expensive lights, make sure they stay standing with a steady C stand!

Manfrotto Air Cushion Stands

Great all-around stands with a quality build and solid base.

RETOUCHING GEAR

Apple Mac Pro

The workhorse we use for editing all of our images. I used to use PC but I don’t think I’ll ever go back.

Wacom MobileStudio Pro 13″ Tablet

My first Windows based PC in almost a decade, but I couldn’t pass up the productivity upgrade by having a completely mobile editing tool. This is a fully functional PC and editing tablet, and I’ve got nothing but great things to say. I have used it to edit on the plane flight home, tethered in the studio handling Medium Format images, and connected to my computer at home as a tablet. The MobileStudio is exactly what it’s name promises.

Apple Macbook Pro

My on-the-go computer and our onsite computer if we’re shooting tethered in the studio.

Eizo ColorEdge CS2730 Monitor

I never really knew how much I couldn’t see in my images until I started using Eizo monitors. Now I can’t imagine going back. I love printing and seeing colors in a whole new spectrum. When I’m finalizing images for a client, this is the only monitor color I trust.

BenQ SW2700PT IPS Monitor

A slightly more budget friendly option to the Eizo monitor, I use my BenQ monitor as a great secondary monitor and travel monitor when I don’t want to load up my Eizo in the car and keep in protected in the studio. It still has great color and does the job.

Wacom Intuos Pro

I recently moved back to the Wacom Tablet for my everyday use and paired with the Eizo Monitor it make a beautiful retouching setup.

G-Tech G-Dock & ev Drives

Back everything up and make it bomb-proof. I love these for quick portability and transferring drives in and out of my computer for archiving off-site.

G-Tech 2TB G-DRIVE USB-C SSD Drive

I carry multiple of these guys when I’m traveling and I have nothing but full confidence in them. When something is backed up on these guys it’s done fast and safely!

Datacolor Spyder 5 Elite Colorimeter

Screen calibration is key to getting true color and contrast out of your images across all of your screens.

Adobe Creative Cloud

The name says it all. You’re not editing if you’re not working with Adobe products…

Capture One Pro

Capture One Pro is a phenomenal RAW editing tool. All of my initial edits are in this program and the tones that come out of it are superior to anything else on the market.

MISCELLANEOUS GEAR

Oliphant Backdrops

Great all-around stands with a quality build and solid base.

Zoom Backdrops

Great all-around stands with a quality build and solid base.

Lee Filter Medium Hood

I love this thing. A great flexible hood to control light and the added bonus of making your camera look legit.

Lee Filter Glass ND Filters

These are used with the hood and help stop down light so I can shoot at thinner depths of field. I carry the .3, .6, and .9 variants.

Think Tank Airport Security V2.0 Roller

This bag is a tank and perfect for rolling on board a plane and getting to the next destination. We store all of our camera gear in these.

Think Tank Logistics Manager

A HUGE bag that works perfect for easily transporting all of our essential lighting gear safely on location. I’ve bag checked this thing full of gear many times and never had a single issue. It’s a beast!

F-Stop Tilopa Photography Bag

Because roller bags can’t go everywhere… This is the bag that gets us and our gear out to where we need to shoot. It’s also an amazing carry on bag and what I use lots of times when I’m flying.

Pelican CF Card Case

Always keep your cards safe from the elements!

GoPro Hero5 Black

My go-to for behind the scenes footage to help bring all of you onto the job with me and share the creative process. We’ve worked with GoPros since the Hero 3 and love these little cameras.

GoPro Karma Drone

This drone is perfect for traveling with it’s sleek setup, and the handheld gimble is perfect for creating smooth footage everywhere we go!

Apple iPad Pro

I loved my Air but the Pro is perfect for not only sharing with clients on a job site, but also as a laptop when you’re away from the studio. Pair that with the Apple Pen and its a beautiful tool for photographers.

Epson SureColor P800

Making the move to Epson printers was entirely worth it. I never used to print much work, but now I love seeing images come to life in large prints from this printer.
