It’s always an honor to get to work with talented athletes and this shoot was no exception. We photographed Ronnie Delzer the morning after he took 1st place in a 60k Ultra-Marathon and broke a course record. He still decided to run back to where we were going to shoot and kept up with us on the mountain bikes. The dude is an absolute stud and that was what we were going to capture! Using a single light (the Profoto B1) and one modifier (the Profoto White Beauty Dish) to keep things light weight, we headed back into the trails to capture some photos. Over the course of the video I show some behind the scenes footage of how I captured portraits, action photos, hero photos, and natural light running photography. In the Lighting Diagrams and Pro Tips, I offer insights into how I lit the portraits, why I framed the images the way I did, and why specific pieces of gear and great for different styles of shots. If you’re looking for a good Behind The Scenes on how to photograph running, this is a video you’re not going to want to miss!
